Although the day did pass me by

Hi Everybody
Sorry that I haven’t written in a while. I took my daughter on vacation for a couple of weeks and showed her part of the world. I will post something shortly but in the meantime I have a poem that I am working on… I hope you enjoy it…
Have a beautiful day! Go out and make it beautiful, and pass on the joy and love 🙂

Although the Day Did Pass Me By

Although the day did pass me by
I did not stand asking the world why
I was not saddened by the thought
Today’s battle lovingly fought
I did not win nor did I lose
For my head does not hang down in shame
I do not say… there’s here a blame
I was not saddened by the fall
For in the morn the light will call

Get up it says
The day is new
You have not fallen
There’s much to do
You’ll forge ahead
Each step you take
You’ll see the light
Through every wake
Through every hardship
Every tear
With every step
To th’end you fear
Will draw you closer
Show you more
Will help you see behind each door
That none are filled with glitter and gold
That every door… beauty ‘t does hold
That every door will show you pain
That all the feelings you contain
Are ones that others bear as well

We learn to see through pain the love
We learn to hear through sobs the smiles
We learn to know that all the while
There is a reason we are here
To love, to lose, to love again
To feel, to break, and then to mend
So break free from the chains you’ve cast
Upon your own feet
and at last
Be happy that you’re free to share
To love
and know that Someone cares
He watches over one and all
He will protect you when you fall
He’ll bear your burdens all and oft
Will hold you gently and be soft

So lift your head and pray a prayer
and find joy as above all’s fair
You will rejoice although your sad
You will laugh when all the fad
and all the rage goes ‘gainst your grain
And strong and true you shall remain

Choices?…

images

I came across two stories recently that make such a poignant remark about life choices.

In the first a woman’s husband pocket calls her while on a date with his mistress. From the call she learns all she needs to.
So she decides to take her life back. She finds  e-mails between her husband and mistress and sends them to the mistress’ husband.  She confronts her husband with the affair and shows him downloaded proof. She wants to takes her life back. She wants to be strong.
They try therapy, conversations, family trips in hopes of saving their marriage. But she wants him to confess and make amends. He doesn’t. He is in love with his mistress. It’s over.
imagesThe other story starts out in much the same way.  A husband comes home and tells his wife he is having an affair. He no longer loves her. He is leaving her for his mistress. She gets mad, yells, and walks out of the room. That night they do not speak. She has time to think. She too makes a choice.  She wants nothing from him. Not his company. His money. His possessions.
She just asks that he put it off for one month.  Their son’s exams are coming up and she wants him to do well.
He agrees.
Then she asks for one favor. During that month could he remember the night they were married? How he carried her across the threshold? Could he humor her and carry her from the bedroom door to the front door like that for the month?
He agrees. For the sake of a peaceful month.
The walks are clumsy at first. Not knowing how to hold her. What to do. But they become progressively more intimate. The smell of her hair. The softness of her cheek. How long has it been since he has truly looked at this woman?savvy-quote-if-you-dont-like-your-life-make-better-choices
They don’t speak. Just walk.
She asks for nothing else. Puts no other conditions on their relationship. And so on the last day as he runs up the steps to his mistresses door and knocks the words “I am not getting a divorce” leave his lips.

There is no right or wrong choice in life. It is a choice. Our choices depend on our life experiences and what we believe will make us happy. Our choices will teach us life’s lessons.
You have to decide what makes you happy. What you’re willing to sacrifice. Which story you would rather be a part of. Which ending you want.
For me…whichever my story I want it always be filled with love. And without regrets.

National Poetry Month- Gratitude

Rare 9

As I wandered down the lanes of my memory

and laughed at my mistakes

The birds chirped their songs of gratitude

so long forgotten in the tunes of man

And the trees swayed to the rhythms

of the ocean breeze

As the flowers bloomed to face the faithful sun

hidden behind the mist of foggy dreams

My soul was lifted in appreciation

for where my heart had roamed

Thank you was my song

National Poetry Month- you are loved

images

the leaves shake against the raging winds

as the tree stands immovable

grounded in its roots

and poised to the radiating sky

so does the will hold course as

the lips tremble and the eyes yearn

have faith

for the roots of your soul

our grounded in your faith

and the love in your heart

do not hear the laughter of your thoughts

but listen to the whispering voice that permeates

from beyond your mind

and know that you are loved

National Poetry Month- the Promise

IMG_2464 - Version 3

I closed my eyes

to the sound of emptiness

As the rush of longing encapsulated my every cell

I breathed in the new day

The air of revived serenity, each particle reminding me

That I found love in the depths of a world

tormented by its insecurities

That I found faith in the depths of a world

broken by its empty promises

And as I lift my head to the heights of

unseen fortunes

Within me is where the

greatest gifts lay

And within the emptiness is the whisper of

a promise of what is to come
